When I was growing up, my parents always supported missions, invited missionaries to our home and shared stories of God’s work around the world. I believe this prepared my heart for the job he gave me here in Mexico. After I graduated from university with a degree in nursing, I worked in a hospital as a medical oncology nurse for 2 years. At the end of my second year God put the call on my heart to do mission work. As I looked for where I could serve, I prayed that God would make it clear where He wanted me to go. One day my brother shared with me about the needs at Manos Pequeñas. I checked into it further, and found that it worked out for me to come for one year as a volunteer caregiver.

After the first year, 2020, each year I made a commitment to continue another year. I have cared for a total of 10 girls since coming to Manos Pequeñas, and also got to know and work

together with the children in the other homes on site. Whether it’s teaching basic skills they hadn’t learned before, taking them to school or appointments, spending time playing or talking

through feelings, I feel so privileged to be able to play a part in their story and share God’s love and care with them. Most importantly, I love reading the Bible or participating in family devotions with the children. It’s been fulfilling being able to serve with the team of caregivers that have become family here at Manos Pequeñas. I’m blessed by how we all work together to give every child who comes to us a loving home and family for the time they are here.

Please pray for protection against any spiritual attacks or discouragements, for unity, for strength, and that God will continue to use us to serve all the children that He brings us.
