APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH BIBLE LESSON TEACHER OUTLINE Third Quarter, 2006 THEME: GOD'S PEOPLE RESTORED INTRODUCTION: Our study for the third quarter concerns the return of the children of Israel to Jerusalem after the captivity. It was not an easy road although God was with the people and blessed them. The journey back took about four months. The work of rebuilding the temple was hindered and finally stopped. It took more encouragement and admonition from a prophet to get the work started again. After more opposition, but with firm determination the temple was finished and dedicated to God. The wall of the city also had to be rebuilt. This feat was finally accomplished in 52 days. It too had much opposition. The people were admonished to live holy lives if they would enjoy God's rich blessings. The lessons for us are that we must similarly build our spiritual temple, which is in our body. It is not easy! Satan opposes the building, but oh the joy that fills a believer's heart when the temple is built and cleansed and the Holy Spirit can dwell in it! We must keep it pure, clean, and holy as long as we live.
